Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Overnight Grocery Assistant Manager to join our management team. This leadership role is vital in overseeing store operations during the overnight shift, ensuring inventory accuracy, excellent customer service, and efficient team management. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, retail industry experience, and a focus on operational excellence to support our store’s success.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate overnight store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and inventory control
- Lead and develop team members through training, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee cash handling procedures and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accuracy and security
- Manage inventory purchasing, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to meet sales goals
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, store policies, and health regulations
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to optimize retail sales and customer satisfaction
- Conduct employee orientation sessions and participate in interviewing potential candidates
- Handle administrative tasks such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, and shift scheduling
- Maintain effective communication with team members and upper management to ensure smooth operations
Experience
- Proven management experience within the retail or grocery industry, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager role
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, merchandising, and operational oversight
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee training & development, and team supervision
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math principles
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding new employees, and conducting interviews
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during overnight shifts
- Knowledge of grocery store product knowledge, pricing strategies, and sales management practices
