Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced, tenacious Personal Injury Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent advocacy skills, a deep understanding of personal injury law, and a relentless determination to fight for the rights of their clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding personal injury claims, including: motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, workplace injuries, and more.
- Conduct thorough investigations, collect evidence, and assess the merits of potential cases.
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and build a strong case.
- Develop and execute effective legal strategies and formulate litigation plans, prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
- Represent clients in negotiations, settlement discussions, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts.
- Litigate cases in court, presenting arguments, examining witnesses, and cross-examining opposing parties, advocating for clients' best interests during trial proceedings.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as paralegals and support staff, to ensure smooth case management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documentation, and billing information.
- Stay abreast of changes in personal injury laws and legal developments to enhance your legal expertise.
- Uphold high ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
- 5 years of personal injury experience (Plaintiff-side experience required)
- Must be comfortable with running a case load from intake through trial.
- Tenacity, resilience, and a strong work ethic to handle complex and challenging cases.
- Familiarity and knowledge of the state court system is a plus.
