Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimate, install, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, commodes, sinks, and faucets; clear and maintain drain lines.
- Install and repair outdoor plumbing infrastructure, including drinking fountains, splash pads, and water features.
- Support seasonal maintenance by winterizing or reactivating plumbing systems in outdoor facilities.

- Assist with emergency response efforts, such as water shut-offs or flood mitigation, during facility-related incidents or severe weather events.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Coordinate with other trades (e.g., electricians, HVAC technicians, general contractors) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and regulations.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Operate a personal or county vehicle to travel to various job sites as required.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members; support team operations and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies and service needs.
- May be required to work before, during, or after emergencies or disasters, at the discretion of the department.

Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in plumbing maintenance and repair within commercial or industrial facilities.
- Current Journeyman Plumber License.
- Must possess or obtain one of the following within one year of employment:
- Master Plumber License, or
- Backflow Prevention License, or
- Journeyman Plumber License (if not already held).
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.

- Proficient in the safe use and care of hand tools and power equipment commonly used in the plumbing trade; demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude.
- Self-motivated with effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
