This role serves as a dedicated coordinator to support the "For Us Tree" grant in Harris County by assisting with project planning and administration, coordination of activities, reporting, outreach and education, data collection, capturing feedback from community events, supporting equitable community engagement, and providing youth with technical expertise to serve as advocates in their community.
The chosen candidate will:
- Create awareness of project intentions, goals, and planned activities through information sessions for community residents.
- Create understanding of the impact of tree canopy, dead trees, and invasive species in the area with respect to climate and community resilience with disasters (flooding, hurricanes, etc.).
- Develop updated materials related to tree health and increase awareness of green careers affiliated with urban and community forestry within the youth residents.
- Working with grant partners to reach the deliverables and scope of work of the grant.

Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- Experience working with youth
- Experience working with volunteers
- Experience with public speaking

General Information
- This position is grant-funded and is scheduled to end in April 2029.
- The position is part-time (15 hours per week, max)
- Hourly salary $25.00
- Annual travel budget of $5,000
- Annual supplies budget of $5,000
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
