Senior Project Manager – Transmission | Norther Indiana
We are partnered by a leading electrical infrastructure contractor to identify a Senior Project Manager for their high-voltage transmission division based in Northern Indiana.
This is a leadership-track role within a rapidly growing transmission portfolio, carrying immediate programme ownership expectations and a clear path toward PM team leadership and operational management.
The Work
You will take ownership across an active and pipeline portfolio including:
- 345kV and 765kV transmission projects
- 138kV EPC delivery (50 miles)
- Ongoing 69kV/138kV area improvement programmes
- Confirmed project visibility through 2028
Work is concentrated across Indiana and Michigan, with strong utility client exposure at scale.
What the Role Actually Requires
This is not a single-project PM position. The client needs someone who can own financials, lead programmes, and build capability in the PMs beneath them.
Technical competency expected across:
- Transmission line project delivery end-to-end
- Constructability assessment and take-offs
- Scheduling and cost ownership
- Transmission structure types — monopole and lattice
- Client-facing programme leadership
The Ideal Background
- 5–10 years transmission PM experience
- Track record of financial ownership on HV transmission work
- Demonstrated leadership of project teams or junior PMs
- Stable career history with genuine progression
- Utility transmission delivery experience — familiarity with major regional utilities a strong advantage
What This Is Not
- Field superintendent background alone will not be sufficient
- Engineering design focus is not the requirement
- Pure execution PMs without financial/commercial ownership experience will not be competitive
Compensation & Structure
- Competitive base salary
- 15–20% bonus tied to revenue, profitability, and safety performance
- Vehicle: $750/month allowance fuel card
- Travel: Low (~10%, sub-20%) — customer meetings and site visits, not a weekly travel role
