Division Manager; Water & Wastewater Florida

Harris & Co are retained by a 100-year-old general contractor to identify a Division Manager who will build and lead their Water & Wastewater presence in Florida from the ground up.

The Context

The business has a century of delivery behind it and a COO who is widely recognised as one of the most accomplished infrastructure construction executives in the US. He has taken deliberate ownership of growing a small regional contractor into a major GC; and is building the leadership team to do it. This role is a central part of that plan.

The Role

Reporting directly to the COO, you will establish and grow the Florida Water & Wastewater division; winning work, building a team, and delivering projects. You will own the full picture; business development, preconstruction, execution, and people.

Project experience in the $10M to $100M range is the benchmark. You need to understand how things get built because in Florida, you will be building the people who build them.

The Person

• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering; mandatory
• Career built in Water & Wastewater construction; you have run projects, managed budgets, and diagnosed problems in the field
• Gets hands on; comfortable walking a job, identifying issues early, and solving them
• Attracts and retains talent through genuine people skills; the kind of leader others want to work for and follow
• US Citizen
• Entrepreneurial; motivated by ownership and comfortable building from a standing start
• Must be willing to be based in Central or Southwest Florida (Tampa/Orlando/Sarasota/Fort Myers)
