Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Beef Plant Training Coordinator to oversee and implement training programs within our meat processing facility. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all training programs within the harvest and fabrication facility. This role ensures that all employees are properly trained in safety, Food Safety, Quality, regulatory compliance, humane handling, production standards, equipment operation, and job-specific skills.
Responsibilities
Employee Training & Development
- Develop and deliver training programs for new hires in harvest, fabrication, sanitation, and support departments.
- Conduct hands-on skills training for positions such as stunners, shacklers, skinners, 1st leggers, 2nd leggers, boners, trimmers.
- Train employees on proper knife handling, sharpening, and equipment safety.
- Create step-by-step job training modules for each workstation.
- Monitor progress of new employees during onboarding.
Safety & Compliance Training
- Ensure OSHA, USDA-FSIS, and company compliance.
- Lead PPE, LOTO, HACCP, humane handling, and chemical safety training.
- Maintain accurate training records for audits.
Production Efficiency & Quality
- Identify skill gaps and provide targeted training.
- Train employees on trimming specs, yield goals, and cut accuracy.
- Support supervisors in employee development.
Leadership & Coordination
- Coordinate with HR, QA, and Production Managers.
- Lead daily training meetings for new hires.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain training logs and competency checklists.
- Prepare monthly training reports.
- Update training materials to meet regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years of experience in beef harvesting or fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of beef plant operations and USDA regulations.
- Experience training teams or leading production crews.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
Preferred:
- Experience as a Trainer, Supervisor, or Safety Tech.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- HACCP certification.
- Knife skills competency.
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
