General Summary

The Food Pantry Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Harmony CDC’s Food Pantry. This role ensures efficient Food Pantry Management, build and lead a team of volunteers, maintain inventory, coordinate food and supply orders, and manage Food Pantry deliveries.

The Food Pantry Coordinator must foster strong relationships with donors, create a welcoming environment for volunteers, and provide accurate reporting to the leadership team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role is an individual contributor and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Food Pantry Operations & Logistics:

  • Oversee daily Food Pantry operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service to the client.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and order food and supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Food Pantry Specialist for timely pick-ups and delivery.

Volunteer Leadership & Engagement:

  • Recruit, train and schedule volunteer leaders to assist with Food Pantry operations.
  • Create a positive and engaging atmosphere for volunteers.
  • Develop and equip standard operating procedures for the Food Pantry.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Utilize CRM and other technology tools to manage the Food Pantry operations and client data.
  • Prepare regular reports on service numbers, inventory, program impact, etc.

Community & Donor Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with current and potential donors.
  • Represent Harmony CDC professionally at community events and meetings.

Program Development & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to Harmony CDC policies and confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with special projects and events as scheduled.
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public health or related field preferred.
  • Three years of experience in case management, social work, community services preferably with individuals and families impacted by homelessness.
  • Experience in logistics, warehouse operations or Food Pantry Management.
  • Working knowledge of HMIS case management systems.
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Office Applications, proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • A high level of discretion and confidentiality is always required.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics are representative of those an individual would experience when supporting a resource center and food pantry in an administrative role. Multi-tasking is essential. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities or special needs to perform the essential functions.

The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, work in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment and reason through complex business situations is required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. There will be some lifting (up to 25 pounds).

Travel Requirements:

A valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record is required.
