What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Harmer?
Harmer is representing a fast-paced, high-growth, private equity–backed company located in the Irving/Las Colinas area. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with month-end close processes, budgeting and forecasting, and customer billing, along with a high level of organization and a proactive, analytical approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Ensure financial transactions are recorded in alignment with applicable accounting standards
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for complex accounting areas, including leases
- Support the annual audit process, including preparation of financial statements and related disclosures
- Analyze and investigate expense variances, providing insights to leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to support accurate reporting and compliance
- Assist with special projects, including system improvements and integration of newly acquired entities
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of progressive financial and operational accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
- CPA is preferred, but not required
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement preparation.
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
