Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Builder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with metal components and machining equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, troubleshoot, and repair progressive, transfer, and/or line dies
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings
- Operate manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM, etc.)
- Perform tool tryouts and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain tooling to ensure optimal production performance
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet specifications
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve tooling design
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
- 3 years of experience in tool and die building or related field
- Strong understanding of metalworking and machining processes
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
- Experience with CNC programming/setup is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Knowledge of stamping or injection molding processes
- Welding and fabrication experience
