About the Project
We are constructing a new solar farm and are seeking reliable, detail-oriented installers to assemble and install the metal racking systems that support the solar panels. This is a construction-focused role and does not involve any electrical work. Installers will work as part of a field crew to build the racking structures according to engineered drawings and site plans.
Position Overview
The Solar Racking Installer is responsible for:
- Assembling and installing posts, rails, brackets, and related racking components
- Following construction plans, site layout, and team instructions
- Using hand and power tools to complete mechanical assembly
- Ensuring quality, accuracy, plumb/level alignment, and structural integrity
- Working safely outdoors in various weather conditions
Key Responsibilities
- Install driven posts, ground screws, or foundation hardware as specified
- Assemble racking components (rails, clamps, torque tubes, hardware sets)
- Measure, align, and verify placement according to engineered drawings
- Use torque wrenches, impact drivers, levels, string lines, etc.
- Assist with material staging and inventory checks
- Report progress, issues, or plan inconsistencies to the site supervisor
- Maintain job-site cleanliness and safety standards
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in construction, assembly, mechanical installation, or similar field
- Ability to read basic construction drawings and follow detailed instructions
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work on uneven outdoor terrain
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, or inclement weather
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Preferred (not required):
- Prior solar racking or ground-mount installation experience
- Experience with metal framing, fencing, or light steel assembly
- OSHA-10 certification
Work Environment
- Full-day outdoor work on an active construction site
- Use of PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, gloves, eye protection, etc.)
- Work may include repetitive lifting, bending, squatting, and standing for long periods
- Crew-based environment with daily production targets
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly Rate: $20-25/hr
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, occasional Saturdays depending on progress
- Project Duration: 2-4 months
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
