Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Solar Electrical Foreman to lead and oversee electrical installation teams on solar energy projects. This role is vital in ensuring the successful execution of solar power systems, from initial planning through commissioning. The Solar Electrical Foreman will coordinate daily operations, supervise skilled electricians, and ensure all work complies with safety standards, project specifications, and quality expectations. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical crews during solar project installations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
- DC systems (string wiring, combiner boxes, modules)
- AC systems (inverters, transformers, switchgear, trenching, terminations)
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve on-site issues promptly.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation activities accurately.
- Manage daily work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress using construction management software such as ProCore or Primavera P6.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify proper installation practices and adherence to specifications.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment on all construction sites.
- Oversee the use of tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and troubleshooting to ensure system integrity.
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on electrical systems, preferably within solar or renewable energy projects.
- Supervising experience leading electrical crews on large-scale construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical codes related to solar installations.
- Familiarity with construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, or similar tools.
- Skilled in project scheduling, budgeting, and contract management for construction projects.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating and quality control procedures.
- Ability to read technical schematics and use testing equipment such as ohmmeters effectively.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety protocols specific to electrical work in construction environments.
Required:
- 5 years of electrical experience (commercial, industrial, or solar)
- 2 years in a leadership role (foreman, lead electrician, or supervisor)
- Strong knowledge of solar electrical systems (DC and AC)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specs
- Familiarity with NEC and local electrical codes
- OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license
