| Job Description | The Head Coach provides instruction to athletes; is responsible for recruiting and retaining student athletes in an effort to provide opportunities for team and individual academic and athletic success; organizes and conducts practices & competitions; assists with the hiring of assistant coaches; ensures adherence to the NJCAA Code of Ethics; supports and participates in development, fundraising and corporate sponsorship efforts in partnership with the Harford Community College Foundation; and performs other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director. Assistance and awareness of the academic success of student athletes is a priority for all coaches. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position. |
| Required Education | A high School diploma or GED and college credits with a minimum of 60 hours or more are required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. |
| Required Experience | A minimum of five (5) years of experience, to include a combination of active game situation coaching at the high school, club/select, or collegiate level and professional playing/coaching experience; experience with recruiting efforts and student-athlete retention; and experience and participation in development, fundraising and corporate sponsorship efforts. |
| Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities | The Head Coach must possess expertise in basketball and exhibit excellence in coaching and instruction in practice and contests while serving as a positive example of a leader and role model. Other requirements include:

| Preferred Qualifications | Preference will be given to candidates familiar with NJCAA and Maryland JUCO guidelines and policies. |
