We are currently seeking an organized, compassionate, and customer service-oriented Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking outpatient mental health services. This position plays a vital role in ensuring clients experience a welcoming, efficient, and seamless intake process from their initial phone call through their first appointment.

Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for prospective and returning clients seeking outpatient services.
- Conduct initial phone intakes and collect demographic, insurance, and referral information.
- Schedule intake evaluations with therapists and medication management appointments with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners (NPs).
- Coordinate referrals for additional services, including Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), when appropriate.
- Monitor and manage incoming referrals, including 988/BHL referrals, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Enter and maintain accurate client information within the electronic health record.
- Verify insurance eligibility and ensure all required intake documentation is completed.
- Maintain the intake tracking system and monitor clients throughout the admission process.
- Communicate scheduling updates and client information with clinicians, psychiatric providers, and administrative staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service while building rapport with clients and families.
- Identify urgent concerns and promptly notify appropriate clinical staff.
- Assist with departmental reporting, quality improvement initiatives, and administrative projects as assigned.
