***This position requires an occasional commute to some local job sites in Birmingham AL
***All welding work is performed in our on-site fabrication shop. Travel to job sites is only as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- 3 years of experience as a pipe welder
- Must be able to pass a 6G weld certification test
- Must be able to weld in the following styles: MIG, TIG & STICK
-The ability to travel (not optional)
-A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred
- Experience piping with cooling towers, chillers, boilers, large roof top equipment
-Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines
- Utilize hand tools, plasma cutters, and metal cutting machines to measure and cut metal components
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to all OSHA safety protocols
- Observes and complies with all safety and project rules, as well as all company policies and procedures
- Must be detail-oriented, have a positive attitude, and be able to work as part of a team
- Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize work assignments
- Set up, maintain, and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
-Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
-Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
