What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer, Propulsion position at Hardware FYI?
Own and drive mechanical design and development of propulsion components and assemblies.
Lead technical efforts to define requirements and propose solutions for mechanical systems.
Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure a reliable and cost-effective system.
Conduct design reviews and implement hardware test plans.
Enhance team tools, templates, processes, and standards.
Optimize engine subsystems for performance, mass, manufacturability, and cost.
Support hardware demonstrations with customers as needed.
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
2 years in a technical engineering role or equivalent experience.
Proven CAD skills for producing high-quality engineering models and drawings.
Strong understanding of machine design, mechanisms, fluids, thermal, and structures.
Hands-on prototyping and fabrication skills with shop tools.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
US Person status required for access to export-controlled data.
