What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer - Propulsion position at Hardware FYI?
- Perform preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, and integration for propulsion systems.
- Support subsystem integration and assist in conceptual development and requirements definition.
- Conduct trade studies to select appropriate design solutions.
- Develop product performance specifications and maintain engineering drawings and specifications.
- Provide requirements flow-down, verification, and maintain technical baseline at suppliers.
- Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, and data reduction.
- Present analysis data to engineering teams and customer representatives during technical interchange meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of mechanical CAD modeling and drafting (Creo or equivalent).
- Understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principles.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
- Familiarity with propulsion system integration and risk evaluation.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hands-on hardware experience and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
