We are seeking an experienced, hard-working, and personable veterinary technician to join our team!
LVT certification is preferred but not required with qualifying experience.
Must possess a strong work ethic, passion for animals and people, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technician duties, on the job training or LVT
- Knowledge of basic animal science
- Knowledge of pharmacology
- Proficiency of various computer programs Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Word (EzyVet, Vet Radar and Vet Snap preferred but not required).

Role Responsibilities:
- Provide patients with the gold standard of care with compassionate restraint
- Work closely with team members and cultivate a positive, respectful, fun, and uplifting work culture
- Provides compassionate care to patients.
- Performs all duties per hospital medical policies and procedures.
- Prepares and maintains exam rooms and treatment areas or vehicles.
- Performs physical examinations; records observations on patients.
- Performs dental prophylaxis and dental digital radiographs
- Maintaining patients on anesthesia of various ASA and recording vitals during a procedure. Knowledge of the monitoring system and to identify abnormalities
- Assisting the Veterinarian for restraining, non-sterile, and sterile surgical assistant
- Calm, soothe, comfort, and restrain pets before, during, and after procedures
- Document medical record notes as directed by the Veterinarian
- Notate and observe hospitalized patients post procedure or during visit to the clinic
- Administer injections of various medications to complete treatment plans created by the Veterinarian
- Assist with CPR protocols, knowledge of emergency medications, and securing an airway.
- Laboratory skills of prepping samples for urinalysis, fecal cytology/floatation, fine needle aspirates, general chemistries, hematology, heartworm testing, preparing samples to be shipped to other laboratories, and skin scraping. General operation and maintenance of a microscope.
- General technical skills of IV catheter placement, venous draws from various vessels, intubation, and extubating.
- Restraining for radiographs and identifying the area of interest
- Admitting patients to the clinic
- Properly calculate a dosage for medications and fluid rates
- Provide the owners with education documents, resources and information. Directed by the veterinarian to communicate to the owner of how-to best care for their pet after a procedure or being hospitalized.
- Being able to prepare patient’s, at the direction of the veterinarian, medications and provide the owner with clear instructions.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area to provide a safe environment to team members and to patients
- Understands usage and dosage for all prescription drugs and can readily explain them to the clients.
