Responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers by assisting with student transitional needs, curriculum development and implementing educational activities aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Engage children in age-appropriate learning experiences that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development.
- Supervise children during extended care hours, ensuring their safety and well-being through effective behavior management and child welfare practices.
- Facilitate smooth transitions between activities and maintain a structured classroom environment through strong classroom management techniques.
- Assist with toddler care routines as needed, including diapering and nurturing young children’s developmental needs.
- Collaborate with staff to adapt lessons for children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention support.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and daily activities.
Skills
- Proven experience in early childhood education or preschool classroom management with a focus on creating engaging learning environments.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching physical education or Montessori methods.
