Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers by assisting with student transitional needs, curriculum development and implementing educational activities aligned with early childhood education standards.
• Engage children in age-appropriate learning experiences that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development.
• Supervise children during extended care hours, ensuring their safety and well-being through effective behavior management and child welfare practices.
• Facilitate smooth transitions between activities and maintain a structured classroom environment through strong classroom management techniques.
• Assist with toddler care routines as needed, including diapering and nurturing young children’s developmental needs.
• Collaborate with staff to adapt lessons for children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention support.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and daily activities.

Skills

• Proven experience in early childhood education or preschool classroom management with a focus on creating engaging learning environments.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching physical education or Montessori methods.
• Familiarity with working with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers, in daycare or private school settings.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive atmosphere for learning and growth.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists in early intervention or special education programs.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare to support holistic child welfare.
