Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations within our steel service and production environment. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production processes to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven background in manufacturing operations, team development, process improvement, and production performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and maximize resource utilization
- Monitor equipment operation, perform basic maintenance and adjustments, identify abnormalities, and report malfunctions to maintenance personnel to support continuous production.
- Lead, coach, and develop production team members across multiple manufacturing functions
- Drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor production output, downtime, scrap, and efficiency metrics
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Partner with sales, logistics, procurement, and maintenance teams to support on-time delivery
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, equipment performance, and labor efficiency
- Manage production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Prepare regular reports on production performance and operational KPIs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related field preferred
- 5 years of production leadership experience in manufacturing
- Prior steel industry or related industrial experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
- Proficiency with production systems, reporting tools, and KPI management
