POSITION OVERVIEW
Harbor Health is seeking skilled Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to join our growing team. Harbor Health is an entirely new multi-specialty clinic group in Garland, TX utilizing a modern approach to co-create health with those who get, give, and pay for it — allowing everyone to fully flourish. As a critical member of our clinical team, you will help ensure smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate, member-centered care that aligns with our mission of transforming healthcare through our payvider model.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the clinical team to execute care tasks as ordered by providers
Deliver care in accordance with each member's individualized care plan
Perform client intake, collect lab specimens, and administer immunizations
Chart accurately in electronic medical records (EHR)
Assist with minor procedures and other supportive functions for the clinical team
Complete opening and closing tasks each day to prepare for daily clinic operations
Support the care team to ensure members' needs are met and hand-offs are appropriately conducted
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
High School Degree or equivalent
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or ability to renew/apply for certification
Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care or similar clinical environment
Current CPR Certification
Computer proficiency with the ability to enter information in EHR systems and compile reports or data as requested
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Excellent customer service and support skills; ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
Effective and professional communication — verbal and written — with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds
Consistent demonstration of positive, proactive customer service and ethical behavior
Ability to work effectively as a team member while functioning independently with sound judgment
Flexibility to shift priorities, maintain confidentiality, and establish effective interpersonal work relationships
Preferred:
Bilingual in English/Spanish
BLS Certification
Phlebotomy Certification
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work rotating shifts in a physically demanding, moderate-stress environment
Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, and repetitive motions
Full range of body motion including handling and lifting clients
Light to moderate work with 50 lbs. maximum weight to lift and carry
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, handle objects, talk and/or hear, and see
