Position Overview:
The Development Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Development and Outreach and plays a key supporting role in advancing the fundraising and relationship-building efforts of Harbor Day School. This position requires a positive attitude, a willing heart, and a servant’s mindset, rooted in a love for God and a passion for the mission of Harbor Day School.
The Development Coordinator assists the Director of Development with grant research, donor data management, and stewardship efforts. This individual is responsible for accurate and timely donor data entry, managing donor relationships—including monthly donors, third-party fundraising organizations, and the Youth Advisory Board—and helping ensure strong communication and engagement across all donor segments. The Development Coordinator also supports fundraising events and campaigns by tracking budgets, maintaining records, and assisting with planning and execution.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Development Coordinator must demonstrate professionalism, discretion with confidential information, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should be collaborative, dependable, and motivated to support the overall success of the Development team.

Principal Duties include, but are not limited to:
> Perform accurate data entry, cleanup, and ongoing maintenance within the donor management software to ensure the integrity and reliability of donor records.
> Work closely with the Director of Development and Outreach to steward donor relationships, ensure all gifts are properly recorded and acknowledged
> Assist with grant research, tracking, organization, and follow-through to support grant applications and reporting requirements
> Lead fundraising efforts for The Crew (monthly giving program) by stewarding current members, recruiting new supporters, maintaining up-to-date donation records, and keeping members informed and engaged
> Serve as a primary point of contact for supporters hosting or organizing third-party fundraising events, providing guidance, resources, and follow-up support
> Lead the fundraising efforts for the year-end campaign, Season of Miracles, in collaboration with the Development team
> Initiate and support new fundraising campaigns that encourage donor growth, increased engagement, and greater community awareness of the Harbor Day School mission
> Maintain meaningful relationships with alumni families, keeping them informed, involved, and connected to Harbor Day School beyond their time as enrolled families
> Organize quarterly community luncheons focused on educating and engaging new supporters, partners, and community members about Harbor Day School
> Work with the Event Manager to identify, request, collect, and organize in-kind donations, including but not limited to raffle baskets and auction items
> Recruit, coordinate, and oversee the Youth Advisory Board, introducing youth to the mission of Harbor Day School through volunteerism, fundraising, awareness efforts, and the planning of a student-led event
> Attend and assist with all Harbor Day School Fundraising events as a member of the Development Team
Qualifications & Skills:
> A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ consistently manifested in work and personal life along with a desire to see others grow in their own relationship with Jesus
> College degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience
> Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
> Demonstrates effective time management skills
> Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral, and in presentations)
> Experience in grant writing is preferred
> Proficient in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft applications
> Good understanding of development and fundraising
> Enjoyment of people and comfortable speaking before groups
> Ability to oversee and execute multiple projects at once
> Ability to work independently and as a team member
> Ability to coordinate and manage communications with outside marketing vendors
> Demonstrates emotional stability and maturity in their day-to-day interactions with team members
> Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry 50lbs across a room
