In this role, you’ll take construction plans, input them into specialized software, and generate accurate, detailed material lists that provide customers with everything they need to bring their projects to life. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys precision, problem-solving, and playing a vital role in the building process.

General Function: It is the responsibility of each employee of the Company to understand and promote the Company Mission Statement and Statement of Values while adhering to the Company Code of Conduct. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage all aspects of estimating costs of building materials for our customers and our outside sales team.

Experience: Experience in the building materials or construction industry is preferred.

Education: High school diploma required; additional education in an applicable area is preferred.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: A design, estimating or sales background and knowledge of building codes and construction is preferred. An estimator must understand various products used in construction, but we can train the right candidate on what they need.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:        

• Performing take-offs on plans, listing product needed to complete the job
• Determining cost and design criteria required by inputting information into computer program
• Handling quote requests brought by Outside Sales or customers
• Handling telephone and email inquiries promptly and friendly
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area

Physical Requirements: Light to moderate, office-type lifting is required.

Working Conditions: Office assigned is in a good environment. Visits to customer job sites can also occur and the environment can include cold, wet and hot conditions.
