Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique is maintained at all times
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; accurately document medical history, treatment notes, and medical coding
- Monitor vital signs and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient assessments before procedures
- Provide excellent dental receptionist support by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing medical documentation
- Uphold infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and adherence to OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe clinical environment
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in the applicable state or region
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with EMR systems is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; experience with medical imaging is a plus
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and managing dental instruments efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with team members
