JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Develop and manage opportunities surrounding market and investor-facing activities for our commercial fleet and energy business. Deep understanding of financial markets across capital structures and how they are applicable to Hanwha business units. Key liaison between business units and external partners such as the institutional investor community, asset managers, banks, governments and joint venture companies.
Support analysis of portfolio risks, FP&A and compliance. Identity and engage external investors groups who drive value to strategic goals of the Hanwha Group of companies. Lead on investor relations and support the executives’ team.
Provide, for Hanwha Shipping and other Hanwha maritime/energy-centric affiliates, research and analysis related to the opportunities and risks of differing financial products and provide key criteria for selection. Close collaboration with the commercial, finance, legal, naval engineering and technology teams at all Hanwha to identify opportunities for fund construction, management, and potential synergies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the fundraising efforts for engagement with external capital providers seeking potential co-investment opportunities within the diversified maritime and energy business units of Hanwha.
- Responsible for Joint-Venture process and relationship management, both financial and operational scopes with ability to work across functional teams in finance, market analysis, commercial, compliance and legal scopes.
- A strong communicator, with a keen awareness of how to convey complex commercial processes to investors and partners.
- Be able to identify, target, approach and execute on an asset allocator of differing strategies and manage their individual needs.
- Working with FP&A, Commercial and other teams to model and anticipate investor community questions.
- A deep understanding of maritime asset models and able to identify opportunities for novel financial constructs.
- Evaluate lease vs. buy decisions; Model ROI across vessel classes
- Work closely with CEO and controllers to prepare budgets, financial planning, track financial KPIs and flag any controls issues.
- Cash flow and liquidity management; forecast cash flow and ensure payment and liabilities are met
- Risk management, calculate value at risk and develop risk management plans. Ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications and Skills:
- Extensive experience in the shipping, energy or finance industries holdingsenior roles and key relationships with asset allocators and other fund managers.
- An MBA or an Advanced degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, or other relationship management skills. Experience can be seen as a substitute.
- Keen interest in maritime, energy and able to convey the sectoral capabilities of Hanwha to investors easily both verbally and through presentations.
- Strong awareness of marine and energy markets and has a desire to be a thought leader in incorporating capital deployment into actionable business practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multicultural environment with an internation scope of business.
Work Authorization:
The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US before joining Hanwha. This role will not sponsor or offer assistance with the sponsorship for work authorization in the United States.
