Position Summary:


Sr. System and Control Manager serves as the primary customer interface throughout the lifecycle of utility-scale SCADA and Plant Power Controller (PPC) projects. This role is responsible for translating customer requirements into executable engineering deliverables while ensuring effective communication, technical alignment, issue resolution, and schedule adherence across cross-functional teams. Sr. System and Control Manager partners closely with Engineering, Software, Procurement, Commissioning, and Project Management to drive successful project execution, commissioning readiness, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary customer point of contact throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with EPCs, Owners, Independent Engineers, and commissioning teams.
  • Understand customer requirements and ensure they are accurately communicated to internal project teams.
  • Lead customer meetings, provide project status updates, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Resolve customer concerns proactively while fostering long-term customer satisfaction.


  • Technical Coordination
  • Coordinate technical discussions related to SCADA, PPC, communication networks, and plant control systems.
  • Gather, document, and validate customer technical requirements with engineering teams.
  • Support technical clarification meetings during proposal, design, and execution phases.
  • Coordinate customer review and approval of engineering documents, control philosophies, communication architectures, and functional specifications.
  • Verify that all engineering deliverables meet contractual requirements prior to customer submission.


  • Project Communication Management
  • Facilitate communication between Engineering, Software, Procurement, Commissioning, and Customer teams.
  • Translate customer requests into clear, actionable tasks for internal stakeholders.
  • Track customer action items and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, document meeting minutes, and monitor action item completion.
  • Identify communication gaps early and implement corrective actions to maintain project momentum.


  • Schedule & Milestone Coordination
  • Monitor engineering, procurement, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and project closeout milestones.
  • Coordinate customer deliverables to support Mechanical Completion (MC), Substantial Completion (SC), and Commercial Operation Date (COD).
  • Identify schedule risks and coordinate recovery plans with cross-functional teams.
  • Escalate overdue deliverables and unresolved issues before they impact project schedules.
  • Support project teams in maintaining accurate milestone forecasts and customer commitments.


  • Deliverable & Commissioning Readiness Management
  • Manage customer-facing engineering and commissioning deliverables from planning through final approval.
  • Coordinate responses to RFIs, technical submittals, and customer review comments.
  • Ensure deliverables undergo internal quality review before customer submission.
  • Drive timely closure of customer comments while maintaining document approval schedules.
  • Support commissioning readiness by ensuring documentation is complete, approved, and aligned with field execution requirements..


  • Issue & Risk Management
  • Coordinate resolution of customer technical inquiries and project execution issues.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for engineering or commissioning challenges.
  • Monitor open issues through formal closure.
  • Identify technical, schedule, and communication risks early and develop mitigation plans.
  • Escalate unresolved issues with recommended recovery actions to minimize project impacts.


  • Change Management
  • Coordinate customer-requested scope changes throughout project execution.
  • Assess impacts to engineering scope, project schedules, and commercial agreements.
  • Support internal review and approval of project change requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of approved changes and customer communications.


  • Commissioning Support
  • Coordinate customer communication during FAT, SAT, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
  • Facilitate technical discussions between customers and engineering teams during commissioning.
  • Coordinate punch list resolution until final project completion.
  • Ensure commissioning documentation is complete, approved, and available before field activities begin.
  • Support field teams by ensuring engineering deliverables are practical, executable, and aligned with commissioning requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience managing utility-scale Solar, BESS, SCADA, PPC, or industrial automation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating customer-facing SCADA and PPC projects from design through commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project execution, including Mechanical Completion (MC), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Commercial Operation Date (COD), and project closeout.
  • Experience managing engineering document review and approval processes using document management platforms such as Procore, Aconex, or SharePoint.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and aggressive schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project controls and scheduling software.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.
  • Knowledge of utility communication protocols and SCADA architectures.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in technical sales, customer account management, or business development within renewable energy or industrial automation.


Physical & other Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, and communication devices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through virtual meeting platforms.
  • Occasionally lift and move office materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Travel to customer and project sites, including occasional international travel, as business needs require.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid passport.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
