Seasonal Delivery Driver – Straight Truck

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable Seasonal Delivery Driver to transport racks of plants from our growers to our various retail locations. The driver will operate a straight truck and assist with safely loading, securing, delivering, and unloading plant racks. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, reliable, physically capable, and comfortable working a flexible schedule during our busy spring and fall seasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a straight truck safely and responsibly.
• Pick up racks of plants from growers and deliver them to assigned locations.
• Load, secure, and unload plant racks while preventing damage to plants and equipment.
• Confirm that each shipment matches the delivery paperwork.
• Follow assigned routes and meet scheduled pickup and delivery times.
• Communicate delays, damaged products, shortages, or delivery concerns promptly.
• Complete required delivery logs, inspection reports, and other paperwork accurately.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck.
• Follow company safety procedures and all applicable traffic and transportation regulations.
• Provide courteous, professional service when working with growers and location employees.
• Assist with other seasonal duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Previous experience operating a straight truck preferred.
• Delivery, agricultural, nursery, greenhouse, or retail distribution experience is helpful.
• Ability to safely maneuver large plant racks with a pallet jack.
• Ability to read delivery instructions and use GPS or navigation tools.
• Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work independently.
• Must meet applicable company, insurance, and DOT requirements, including a medical card if required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to repeatedly push, pull, and maneuver loaded plant racks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb into and out of the truck throughout the workday.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
