Warehouse Worker - 1st Shift

Our local family-owned company is looking for a motivated, responsible individual to help us provide exceptional service to our customers. This is a 1st shift, full-time position performing general warehouse, housekeeping, and light maintenance duties. Don't plan on sitting on a forklift all day.

Travel between our metro Milwaukee area warehouses will be required, so a valid driver license and reliable vehicle is required.

Responsibilities may change as business needs change, so this job is best for someone who is a flexible team player and who is open to variety, new opportunities, and learning new things.

NOTE: Pre-employment drug test is required.

Responsibilities:

* General warehouse duties to include (but not limited to) loading and unloading trucks; putting away inbound product and picking outbound orders using proper warehousing techniques; handling all product with care; scanning inbound and outbound orders using RF scanner and utilizing a computer to maintain accurate inventory control; complete all required paperwork thoroughly and accurately.

* Light maintenance and housekeeping duties, such as (but not limited to): painting, dusting, sweeping, mopping, light miscellaneous repairs, lawn cutting, weed control, light snow shoveling and application of salt on parking lots and walkways in winter, etc.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Experience loading and/or unloading trucks with a forklift is required, at least 1 year strongly preferred

* Material handling experience highly preferred, but at least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment is required

* Experience using RF scanner highly preferred

* We will give preference to a handy and/or mechanically inclined person; previous janitorial and/or maintenance experience a plus

* Strong attention to detail, demonstrated initiative, effective communication, and ability to multi-task are necessary

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team required

* Must have a valid driver license, a reliable and insured vehicle, and must be able to drive to various metro Milwaukee area warehouses with personal vehicle upon request

* Ability to work overtime and flexible work hours

* Ability to competently use a computer is required; experience using warehouse management software highly preferred

* Must read, write, speak and understand English

* Must be at least 18 years old

* High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds by hand unassisted

* Ability to climb stairs or ladders as needed

* Ability to frequently walk and/or stand on concrete for extended periods of time

* Ability to regularly sit, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, crawl, climb and reach
