Assistant Manager

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the Manager in all aspects of store operations and is responsible for ensuring store quality, organization, and customer experience at the end of each shift.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Update and maintain accurate costs and retail pricing for incoming products on a weekly basis or as directed by management
• Work all backstock areas (including walk-in cooler/freezer, storage areas, and shelving) at least weekly
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled displays and merchandise with accurate signage
• Prepare and maintain copies of required paperwork and ensure materials are stocked and up to date
• Participate in projects that improve store operations (with management approval)
• Help ensure team members remain productive during shifts and complete tasks accurately and thoroughly
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary store environment at all times
• Scoop ice cream and stock shelves as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Become a certified food service manager (training provided)
• Model strong customer service skills and maintain positive team morale
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and business performance
• Take initiative to support store growth, marketing, and revenue opportunities
• Communicate clearly and professionally with management, ownership, and team members
• Support and promote Hansen’s Dairy products and brand values
• Contribute to a fun and welcoming customer experience
• Be willing and available, when reasonably possible, to assist with urgent operational needs, including responding to questions or helping cover shifts in emergency situations

Essential Functions

• Standing for extended periods, potentially the entirety of each shift
• Scooping hard-dip ice cream
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, occasionally on a repetitive basis
• Ability to remain active and engaged, including helping ensure team productivity during shifts
• Strong listening, reading, verbal communication, observational, and basic computer skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting wage: $13.50/hour (full-time, approximately 35 hours/week)
• Paid Time Off:
• 40 hours after 3 months
• Additional 40 hours after 6 months
• $15,000 term life insurance
