What are the responsibilities and job description for the Talent Development Lead position at Hansen Filler Associates?
We are partnering with a high-growth, tech forward financial services firm to hire a Learning & Development Specialist / Instructional Designer to join their Talent Development team in New York.
This is a hands-on design and facilitation role, you won't just be managing vendors or logistics, you'll be building the learning content yourself and standing up in front of the room to deliver it, across everyone from new joiners to senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain engaging learning content - from new courses and assessments to reshaping existing materials
- Facilitate classroom-based and virtual training sessions across a range of populations, including new manager and manager-of-manager programmes
- Partner with subject-matter experts, HR partners, and instructional design peers to identify learning needs and map content to clear objectives
- Manage multiple content-development projects at once in a fast-paced, fairly ambiguous environment
- Evaluate feedback post-delivery and prioritise iterative improvements
- Support a mix of modalities - self-paced online, virtual classroom, in-person, and blended
What they're looking for:
- Genuine instructional design experience - not just program or vendor management
- Comfortable designing behavioural/soft-skills content as well as adapting technical material for delivery
- Strong facilitation skills with both small and large groups
- Collaborative, credible with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong project management instincts; able to juggle several workstreams at once
