Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced, management-level accounting professional to step in on a temporary basis and lead a team responsible for accounting within a specific product line business unit. The ideal candidate will bring a strong review-oriented mindset, the ability to lead and coach a small team, and a passion for operational excellence. This role offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact while supporting a well-established accounting function through a period of transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small accounting team from a process perspective, supporting both the team members and senior finance leaders
- Perform high-level review of journal entries, account reconciliations, audit deliverables, and other work papers to ensure accuracy and quality
- Coach and develop team members through thorough review, feedback, and professional development opportunities in alignment with a teaching-focused organizational culture
- Collaborate cross-functionally with partners in accounting, finance, and operations
- Identify and drive process improvements to achieve operational excellence, bringing a fresh perspective to existing workflows
- Support internal, external, and compliance audit requirements, including maintaining an appropriate and well-documented internal control environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum five years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced industry environment
- Strong experience reviewing accounting work papers and ensuring a robust internal control environment
- Demonstrated management experience, including leading a small team
- Ability to coach others on attention to detail and the components of a high-quality work product
- Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills

- SAP experience
