POSITION TITLE: Payroll Administrator

PURPOSE:
The payroll administrator is responsible for processing and managing the company's payroll, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential information. It is mandatory to work the first 5 business days of each month, as well as 4 business days between the dates of the 16th and 21st of each month to ensure payroll is transmitted within the required time frame. After a mandated in-house time of training for the first few months, this will be a part-time remote position of 20-25 hours per week. There will be times needed to report to the dealership for additional training, assistance with 401k open enrollment meetings, etc. Automotive experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Process payroll for all employees, including calculating wages, taxes, and deductions
· Maintain payroll records and ensure their accuracy and completeness
· Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve any issues or discrepancies
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
· Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
· Coordinate with the HR department to obtain necessary information for payroll and benefits processing
· Handle direct deposits, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related transactions
· Update and maintain employee information in payroll systems
· Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution
· Support 401k, Health Plan, Worker Comp and other audits related to payroll
· Perform other administrative tasks as needed
· Collaborate with the finance department for any payroll-related inquiries
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred
· Previous experience in payroll processing or a similar role
· Previous automotive accounting experience is a plus.
· Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications, Excel.
· Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
· Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others
· Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
