Hanover Township is hiring a Transportation Manager!
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Aging Services, the Transportation Manager oversees operations of the Transportation Division of the Aging Services Department and is responsible for supervision of bus drivers and dispatcher. This position requires an Illinois Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement, as well as a general knowledge of dispatch operations, State of Illinois Rules of the Road, and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements in order to manage the transportation program effectively. The Transportation Manager is responsible for addressing the mechanical needs of the vehicles and communicating relevant updates with the Director of Facilities and Road Maintenance to ensure proper operations of the fleet. This position fills in for the Dispatcher as well as transporting clients by driving a bus, when needed. The Transportation Manager communicates regularly with staff and partners regarding the Dial-A- Bus service, the Supported Employment Transportation program, the Township Riders Initiative Program (T.R.I.P.), and PACE Vanpool to ensure all Township policies and procedures are followed. Responsible for participating as a member of the Aging Services Managerial Team in the oversight of applicable Township and Aging Services functions.
This exempt position has an annualized salary of $70,000 - $75,000, depending on qualifications. This is a 40-hour work week position: Monday-Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistical Management, or related field preferred.
- Current Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement highly preferred.
- Two years of experience in transportation required.
- Two years in a supervisory capacity highly preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or alternate work schedule required.
