Full Time Cook

Hanover Hill Health Care Center is now interviewing for a full-time Cook to join our Dining Services Department.

Full time hours vary to include: 6am-2:30pm or 11am-8pm and Rotating Weekends

This department is responsible for providing a high quality dining experience while meeting the dietary needs of our residents in our upscale, 124 bed long-term care and skilled nursing facility. Located on a beautiful campus in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Exhibit a customer service oriented attitude with staff, residents, family members, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
• Able to make independent decisions when situations warrant such action
• Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
• Must have the knowledge and and ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, appearance of work areas, regular inspection of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Basic cooking duties, at times in large quantities, that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare short-order meals including special orders requested mid-meal service from nursing units.
• Prepare and serve food in accordance with established portion control and sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedure
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with standardized recipes, special order diets, and planned menus
• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary, safe, comfortable and in an attractive manner
• Sweep and mop floors and clean walls as directed
• Ensure all silverware, dishware, pots and pans, etc. are cleaned as directed and available for the next meal.
• Help put away delivery stock; break up cardboard boxes and discard them in dumpster
