What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist position at Hannibal Regional?
Under limited supervision performs advanced clerical tasks pertaining to the accounts payable function, requiring use of initiative and judgment. Reconciles invoices with purchase orders, verifies receiving, checks invoice amount, assigns distribution codes and payment dates. Processes check requests and recurring monthly payments. Prints checks. Maintains records of invoices and payments. Processes monthly close and transfers entries to general ledger. Researches and compiles special reports for managers. Assists in training.
- High school graduate required
- Two years experience as an accounts payable lead or accounting clerk/bookkeeper required
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft office products and 10-key calculator proficiency required
- Strong organizational, analytical and account reconciliation skills
- Excellent communication skills; oral and written
- Ability to multitask, adapt to and operate in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Knowledge of relative federal and state tax laws as it relates to 1099 preparation and processing
