Hanna Instruments, a global leader of scientific instrumentation, is seeking a hands-on Quality/ Hardware Test Manager to lead and evolve our product validation and quality assurance efforts. This role combines team leadership with direct involvement in product testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality and compliance for electronic or electrochemical instrumentation and a passion for building high-performing test systems and teams.
Job Responsibilities of a Quality/Hardward Test Manager:
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of test engineers responsible for validating new product designs and ensuring the continued reliability of released products.
- Drive development of structured test plans, procedures, and schedules across multiple projects.
Hands-On Testing
- Actively participate in testing activities, including performance, reliability, and environmental testing of electronics and sensors.
- Support design validation, root cause analysis, and resolution of hardware and system-level issues.
Quality & Compliance
- Implement quality processes aligned with ISO 9001 and internal company standards.
- Ensure product compliance with relevant safety and EMC standards (e.g., UL 61010, IEC 61326, CE).
- Work with cross-functional teams to define and improve test coverage and risk mitigation strategies.
Documentation & Process
- Oversee generation and maintenance of test reports, validation protocols, and traceability documentation.
- Collaborate with R&D, compliance, and production teams to close quality gaps and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills required for a Quality/Test Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or related technical field).
- 7 years of experience in product testing, quality assurance, or reliability engineering.
- At least 2 years of team leadership or project management experience.
- Solid understanding of test equipment, instrumentation, and validation methods.
- Experience with regulatory standards such as UL, CE, FCC, or IEC 61010/61326.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced development environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence) and XRAY
- Experience working with PLM systems (e.g., Arena, Agile) is a plus
- Familiarity with design verification in regulated industries or consumer electronics is beneficial.
