- Position: Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Location: Wilmington, NC
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Current BLS Certification
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in Adult Outpatient Clinic settings
- Experience in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine clinics
- Room patients and prepare them for provider examinations and consultations.
- Obtain and document height, weight, pulse oximetry, vital signs, and patient histories.
- Review and update medications, allergies, and medical information in Epic.
- Perform point-of-care testing, including blood glucose monitoring and urinalysis.
- Conduct 12-lead EKGs and assist with diagnostic testing.
- Collect, label, and process urine specimens and clean-catch samples.
- Assist with venipuncture and specimen collection when needed.
- Administer immunizations and injections according to provider orders.
- Educate patients on diabetes management, medications, and treatment plans.
- Assist with Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) education and support when applicable.
- Complete follow-up phone calls and communicate test results as directed.
- Process pharmacy refill requests and coordinate patient care needs.
- Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure clinic readiness.
- Follow aseptic technique, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
- Document all care accurately in Epic EMR.
