Painter

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects, with a strong understanding of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from restoration to new construction, utilizing a range of tools and skills to deliver high-quality results. Candidates with experience in blueprint reading, schematics, and related trades such as carpentry and masonry are highly valued. The position requires a commitment to safety, precision, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, or repairing as needed for optimal paint adhesion.
• Apply paint, stain, or coatings using brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, or other power tools to achieve smooth finishes on walls, ceilings, trim, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specifications.
• Perform specialized painting tasks including industrial painting, renovation projects, restoration work, stucco application, and masonry finishes.
• Install fixtures such as trim carpentry or other related components during remodeling or renovation projects.
• Ensure proper surface preparation by masking areas and protecting surrounding surfaces during painting operations.
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
• Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment on construction sites.

Experience

• Proven experience in residential and commercial painting projects with knowledge of construction estimating is preferred.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools including airless sprayers, welding equipment (if applicable), and maintenance of tools is essential.
• Knowledge of color theory for effective color matching and aesthetic finishes.
• Experience with construction site work including framing carpentry (trim carpentry), drywall finishing (plastering), concrete finishing, masonry work (stucco), and fixture installation is advantageous.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, schematics for industrial painting or remodeling projects is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in renovation or restoration projects involving demolition or remodeling processes is beneficial.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for precise application of materials.
• Additional maintenance person skills such as caulking, framing carpentry, welding (if applicable), or general maintenance are considered a plus.
