Purpose:

To create an exciting, stimulating atmosphere in your store that will "WOW your Customers."

To provide leadership and direction toward the common goal of increasing sales and containing controllable costs.

 

Job Summary

The Store manager is responsible for all day to day store operations to include asset control, decision making, supervising employees and assistant manager. The Store manager is responsible for improving monthly the stores’ overall total sales, profit and loss statement to help reduce losses to the company.

 

Qualifications:

Major Responsibilities

  1. Daily Operations
  2. Daily paperwork- entering invoices, doing cigarette counts, beer counts, gas completion prices, deposits & Lotto/Lottery, ordering money as needed,etc.
  3. Gas – competition price check, gas price changes, sign changes, receipt paper, sticking tank for water and to check levels. Also check ATG system, skimmer at the pumps.
  4. Payroll- review for punch errors, approve hours, prevent overtime, schedules and budgeting.
  5. Daily paperwork and computer entry is to be done in a timely manner.
  6. Vendor Control – check in vendor once product is in the store, check for damages, or other credits that need to be resolved. (Scan each case)
  7. Merchandise- order and maintaining adequate stock (no out of stock), displays are attractive, priced correctly and displayed in a safe manner. Merchandise what fits your neighborhood.
  8. Perform all price changes requests, mark down/up, etc. and communicate any pricing problems.
  9. Store Environment- Maintain an organized safe clean store, be compliant with health standard requirements. Be Proud of your store!
  10. Daily inspect the store for unsafe conditions report any if found.
  11. Implement and enforce daily operating procedures
  12. Budget & Expense control- understand the traffic patterns of your store, and achieve the proper balance between sales, customer service and labor costs.
  13. You must set a high standard in all areas for your team to follow!(Dress code, Self-Presentation, etc.)

 

Asset Control

  1. Cash & Inventory control –monitor cash and inventory shrinkage, drive offs, video viewing, night rides.
  2. Enforce all safety and security issues and report any and all unsafe conditions. Report IMMEDIATLEY any accident (General Liability, Worker’s Compensation)
  3. Maintenance – Reporting & Prevention
  4. Understand all information in the daily reporting and operation of the store.
  5. Follow and enforce all Company Policies and Established Procedures in the store.

Recognize and take ownership of your store and the surrounding property, including inventory…ENHACE, MAINTIAN, AND PROTECT.

Store & Employee Development

  1. Customer Service -Promote & resolve complaints in a timely professional manner.
  2. Recruiting to consist of: interviewing, recommending for hire, training new individuals, teaching a positive attitude and excellent customer service.
  3. Motivate each and every member of your team to deliver their best for your customers, train them how to do that, and place them in a spot that best uses their talents. (Motivate, encourage, discipline and challenge)
  4. Develop the right store atmosphere and team development
  5. Continuous training in all areas: safety, cash management, emergency situations, know who and how to contact key office personnel.
  6. Conduct Store meetings as needed with employees.

 

Experience

  • High school Diploma or GED recommended.
  • To have the ability to accurately measure, weigh and price purchases by the pound or piece.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work any shift or location to suit the business needs and keep the company running in an efficient operating manner.
  • Must be able to work the schedule as posted, requires consistent and regular attendance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and employees
  • Must be willing to participate in training classes and meetings as requested by the Company
  • Must have the ability to be consistent with company policies, to maintain superior customer relations; to be involved and committed to the quality process; to be willing to train and give aid to fellow employees; to work in an efficient and economical manner; to receive constructive criticism and praise in a business like fashion and to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must pass "State Food Certification Exam", or have proof of such.
  • Must be able to work alone as some stores operate with a single employee.
  • Must be able to work more than 8 hour shifts.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift various weights up to 50lbs while performing duties (while adhering to company policy of wearing a lifting belt). If greater than 50lbs two people should work together. These tasks vary in length and frequency.
  • Must be able to assist in various tasks that require bending, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing.
