Position Summary
HandsOn River Region is seeking a motivated intern to support volunteer engagement, nonprofit partnerships, community events, and social media outreach. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, communications, volunteer management, and event planning.
The intern will assist with major initiatives including the Volunteer Program, Christmas Clearinghouse, MLK Day of Service, and Volunteer of the Year Awards.
Responsibilities
- Assist nonprofits with volunteer opportunity postings and volunteer engagement
- Help create and distribute weekly volunteer opportunity newsletters
- Support social media content creation and scheduling
- Assist with Christmas Clearinghouse planning and communications
- Help manage MLK Day of Service project RFPs, application tracking, and volunteer coordination
- Support the launch and promotion of Volunteer of the Year nominations
- Assist with event planning, outreach, and administrative projects as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Current college student
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Interest in nonprofit work and community engagement
- Familiarity with social media platforms and Canva preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
