Grants and Scholarships Intern (Part-Time)
Organization: Central Alabama Community Foundation (CACF)
Reports to: Grants and Scholarships Manager
Location: East Alabama Office (with periodic travel to Montgomery)
Schedule: Flexible hours within business hours (M–Th: 8:30–5:00; Fri: 8:30–12:00)
The Grants and Scholarships Intern plays a vital role in supporting the Foundation’s mission of sustainability and community impact. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual looking to gain experience in philanthropy, non-profit management, and community relations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support & Communication
• Scholarship Facilitation: Manage the end-to-end verification and processing of Proof of Enrollment (POE) to ensure timely fund distribution.
• Inquiry Management: Monitor the scholarships email account, providing professional responses and solutions to students and educational institutions.
• Outreach: Assist in the development and distribution of marketing materials, including press releases, newsletters, social media content, and brochures.
Administrative Excellence
• Data Integrity: Assist with auditing legal documentation and maintaining accurate records within the grants and scholarships platform.
• Event Coordination: Support the planning and implementation of award ceremonies and meetings, including material preparation and physical setup.
• File Management: Conduct ongoing digital and physical filing to ensure organizational compliance and audit readiness.
Special Projects
• Analysis: Assist with program analysis, grant reconciliation, and database development as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with program staff to execute various tasks.
Qualifications & Expectations
• Confidentiality: Must maintain the highest standards of discretion regarding donor, non-profit and student information.
• Communication: Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with databases or social media management is a plus.
• Reliability: Ability to manage a consistent part-time schedule and travel to the Montgomery office when necessary.
