Hands of Heartland is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to work with the people we support as an in-home Direct Support Professional (DSP). We are hiring for multiple DSP positions in South Sioux City, NE and the surrounding area.

What You’ll Do: Work directly with people with developmental disabilities assisting and supporting them with day to day living activities.

• As an In-Home DSP and DSP in general you will support individuals with planned individual-focused or group-based activities. You will support individuals with activities in a home environment and in community settings including meal planning, grocery shopping, or household chores while providing compassionate and respectful assistance to help them live as independently as possible. Other requirements include the following. You must display a strong sense of professionalism since you will be going into other people’s homes. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation, based on the individual’s level of need. Support the individual in developing and maintaining skills, which could include money management, household chores, self-advocacy, and communication. Based on individual's needs, goals, and support plan. Implement goals and objectives from the individual’s person-centered support plan and document progress using an web-based system as required. Monitor and promote the individual’s health and well-being while following safety protocols. Encourage social interaction and community inclusion through meaningful activities and relationship building. Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible and willing to adapt to change. Know the value of communication. Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals.

Requirements for All Positions:

• All positions require you to transport individuals in a motor vehicle. You must have reliable transportation with valid auto insurance.
• Mileage reimbursement available.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass all background checks.
• Experience preferred although not required- we will train you!

Shifts & Hours Needed:

• Full time hours available for Days and Evenings with every other weekend.

Pay: $18/hour is starting pay. We pay more for experience and if you have a CNA license. Incentives also available.
