Assistant Project Manager

Handrail Design, Inc., a Lancaster-based manufacturer of custom handrail systems, seeks a full time Assistant Project Manager. This position requires both office and occasional on-site work to ensure that each project is going according to plan, on time, and meeting customers' expectations. Remote work is not available.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with team members through all phases of project planning, execution and closeout to ensure high-end residential and commercial projects are on schedule while ensuring quality, budget, safety, and customer expectations are met;
• Prepare RFIs, Requests for Pricing, Change Orders, Purchase Order Requests, and Submittals;
• Troubleshoot and resolve any problems that may arise;
• Ensure all deadlines are met;
• Communicate with customers in a clear and professional manner.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to problem-solve, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks;
• Ability to anticipate project needs and potential problems;
• Ability to oversee and manage a high volume of projects;
• Ability to adapt to changes in schedule, team, and logistics;
• General understanding of blueprints/drawings, and customer specifications;
• Ability to work well with people in a number of positions, from architects and high-end homeowners to subcontractors and field installers;
• Mastery of Microsoft Office application suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.

A minimum of 1 year experience with scheduling and construction contracting is preferred. A valid driver's license is mandatory as the position requires traveling to jobsites throughout the US.

This is an excellent entry-level position initially working under the direction and mentorship of established project managers with opportunity for an individual to further advance.
