Love working with your hands, staying busy, and being part of a team that takes pride in what it creates? Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is looking for a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented Ice Cream Maker to join our production team at our new location!
This is a hands-on role focused on preparing fresh batches of ice cream for the shop. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, follows processes carefully, and understands the importance of consistency, cleanliness, and quality.
You don’t have to be an ice cream expert to join us. We can train the right person. What matters most is your work ethic, reliability, willingness to learn, and ability to take pride in producing a great product.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and produce daily batches of ice cream according to established recipes and procedures.
- Measure, weigh, and handle ingredients accurately to maintain consistency and quality.
- Operate ice cream production equipment safely and follow established operating procedures.
- Monitor production processes and help ensure each batch meets quality expectations.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, cleaning, and storage requirements.
- Keep production areas, equipment, tools, and work surfaces clean and organized.
- Maintain an organized workflow so the shop has the product it needs for daily operations.
- Monitor ingredients and supplies and communicate when items need to be restocked.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production needs and minimize unnecessary waste.
- Communicate with management and teammates about production needs, equipment concerns, and product availability.

Experience and Qualifications

- Experience following recipes, measuring ingredients, or operating production equipment is beneficial.
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge is preferred.
- Must be willing to learn and follow company recipes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Must be comfortable working in a hands-on food production environment.
No previous ice cream-making experience? That’s okay! We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Pay & Scheduling
- Pay: $17.00 per hour plus tips.
- Employee Discount: 20% off.
- Employment Type: Part-time and full-time positions available.
- Typical Hours: Production team members generally arrive between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM and finish between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on daily production needs.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Exact shift times and weekly hours are still being finalized as we prepare to open our new location. Schedules will be determined based on production needs and team availability.
This is a hands-on daytime production role for someone who enjoys staying busy, following established processes, and helping ensure the shop has fresh ice cream ready for customers each day.
