REPORTS TO: On Site Supervisor

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

Base pay starting at $21 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained work environment across all areas of the operation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the mill, including outside offices, yard, sawmill, and planer mill.

• Sweep, clean, shovel, and remove debris from floors and around equipment.

• Sort and dispose of collected materials into the appropriate waste streams.

• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing drive belts and greasing machinery.

• Follow proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for equipment safety.

• Empty trash receptacles daily.

• Serve as watchman when required.

• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Understand and adhere to Hancock Lumber's Safety and Mission Statements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the lumber industry and related operations.

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.

• Excellent focus and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, adapting to shift requirements.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Lift 60# from floor to waist, lift 40# from waist to shoulder
• Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet
• Push 100# in a wheeled cart
• Stand on a cement floor for long periods of time
• Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level and climb repeatedly
• Reach overhead to grasp materials
• Ability to walk up and down stairs to access machinery.
