POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Manager is responsible for all day-to-day sales and service to existing accounts as well as new business development. The Account Manager works closely with inside support and operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Meet all customer and company commitments.
- Manage credits and delivery ticket values in accordance with company standards.
- Sales Profitability
- Achieve margin targets consistently.
- Collaborate with your General Manager (GM) when manually pricing competitive proposals.
- Sales Growth
- Primary objective: Grow sales revenue and margin.
- Maximize opportunities with existing customers.
- Identify and pursue target accounts.
- Lead efforts on new permits and one-time projects in your market.
- Release inactive accounts to your GM for reassignment.
- Actively drive sales in the Windows and Kitchen categories.
- Understand and align with your GM’s strategic objectives for your location.
- Accounts Receivable (AR) Support
- Pre-screen and recommend credit-worthy customers.
- Identify and confirm special payment arrangements before project initiation.
- Monitor credit lines proactively to prevent unnecessary holds.
- Promote customer use of WebTrack
- FileMaker Utilization
- Use FileMaker to monitor and manage your performance scorecard.
- Policy Compliance
- Maintain full adherence to all company policies at all times.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Valid driver’s license and insurability.
- Able to process orders, assimilate sales training information, make decisions and problem solve in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
- Able to communicate with customers and employees, using verbal and written skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications as well as related Hancock computer software and applications.
- Solid people skills to enable the building of successful work relationships with operational people as well as sales support.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED. Post secondary education preferred.
- Experience in sales in the Lumber and Building Materials industry preferred.
REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lift 60# from floor to waist; lift 40# from waist to shoulder.
- Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet.
- Push 60# in a wheeled cart.
- Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level repeatedly.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Reach overhead to grasp materials.
- Work inside a controlled environment.
- Work outside in extreme temperatures, as required.
