What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at Hana?
Provide daily support to facilities, grounds, and equipment related improvements and additions. Supervises Senior Equipment Techs, Facilities techs, and facilities custodians to assure that Safety, Quality, Productivity and Housekeeping is accomplished in support of the customer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Two-to-Four-year college degree and/or trade certification is preferred.
- Three to Five Years of Supervision and leadership experience in facilities and equipment management.
- Demonstrated experience in facilities related projects such as HVAC, roofing, building needs, compressors, fire suppression, plumbing, electrical, equipment rigging and vendor contract negotiations.
- Experience leading building and equipment safety.
Essential Job Functions:
- Understanding of the facilities’ short- and long-term needs including maintenance, preventive maintenance, and end-of-life facilities replacements.
- Identify, document, and facilitate completion of building preventive maintenance needs and production equipment calibration needs.
- Identify and control quality cost effective contractors and vendors for facilities related projects.
- Manage projects involving outside contractors and vendors within budget and agreed timelines. Appropriately communicate unexpected changes to contractor timelines and cost agreements.
- Coordinate and document contractor visits to site following all applicable safety, security, and operational procedures.
- Communicate appropriately disruptions to departments due to facilities activities.
- Attain appropriate quotes from contractors/vendors with multiple quotes when appropriate.
- Supervise 2 to 10 employees across multiple shifts.
- Daily/Weekly scheduling of custodial, equipment and facilities assignments.
- Oversight and management of Maintenance management software. Including tracking of PM’s, asset assignments, calibration requirements and work order requests/completions.
- Determine and schedule OT needs when required.
- Communication and Maintenance of hourly operator Time and Attendance.
- Initiation and oversight of training needs for direct reports.
- Assure timely completion of documentation and training sign offs. Including PR’s, work orders, schedules, and contract agreements.
- Provide immediate feedback to associates/techs for Safety, Quality, Productivity, PPE, and housekeeping needs.
- Report on quarterly KPI’s for facilities/equipment related items. Including open work orders, completed work orders, on-time calibrations, and facilities improvements.
- Maintain routine custodial needs and identify/correct gaps.
- Proactively escalate and communicate needs for support from other departments.
- Actively seek to maximize direct report utilization
- Participate and/or lead Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Timely reporting and ordering of facilities consumables.
- Participate in weekly KO meeting. Reporting current events for facilities/equipment.
- Lead end of life sale, disposal, and/or storage of obsolete business equipment
- Lead and/or support plant Safety Committee. Key player in emergency response events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Four-Year College Degree preferred
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office products and basic understanding of spreadsheets
- Ability to respond to off-hours facilities needs and events.
- Ability to lead people with respect, collaboration, and integrity
- Ability to appropriately communicate with all levels of business. Organized and articulate with proposals, bids, and purchase requests.
- Ability to understand and uphold Safety, ESD, Clean room gowning, and ISO protocols
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Superior organization and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated building repairs, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Microsoft Office products
- Ability to utilize tools and measurement devices. Experienced in basic facilities and equipment troubleshooting including electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical.
