The Production Manager provides operational leadership for a 24/7 high-volume RFID inlay manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role drives the execution of production schedules, maximizes OEE, and standardizes cross-shift performance. This position directly manages 4–6 Shift Supervisors and partners closely with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to eliminate bottlenecks and optimize machine uptime.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or a technical field (or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience).
  • Experience: 5–8 years of manufacturing leadership experience, with 3 years managing a 24/7 multi-shift operation.
  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience in high-volume automated manufacturing, web handling, roll-to-roll converting, or electronics assembly. Strong mechanical aptitude regarding web tension, rotary die cutting, or automated picking/placement is highly preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated project success utilizing Lean tools.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency using ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel to track, analyze, and report on core manufacturing metrics.
  • Compliance: Strong understanding of Safety and Quality (ISO 9001/IATF16949) requirements.
 
Essential Job Functions:
 
Operational Performance -
  • Lead 4–6 Shift Supervisors to safely execute production schedules and meet delivery targets.
  • Own and report daily manufacturing metrics (first pass yield, schedule adherence, etc.), driving initiatives to optimize OEE.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, environmental, ISO, ESD, and cleanroom requirements.
  • Enforce the timely completion of documentation and training sign-offs, including logs, deviations, Work Instructions, Alerts, verification checks, and shift changeover checklists.
  • Ensure the integrity and traceability of product and material transactions within the ERP system.
  • Partner with Quality to manage inline testing results, resolve product non-conformances, and participate on the Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Partner with Engineering to support new products, processes, and equipment.
  • Leverage basic mechanical and equipment understanding to partner effectively with Engineering on machine troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and minimizing downtime.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical off-shift, weekend, or overnight operational emergencies.
Team Leadership -
  • Coach, mentor, and build accountability within the supervisory team across all shifts.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance expectations.
  • Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and workforce development.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
 
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead people with respect, collaboration, and integrity
  • Ability to understand and uphold Safety, ESD, Clean room gowning, and ISO protocols
  • Author and/or review production related documentation (ISO, SOP’s, drawings, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success leading and implementing Lean manufacturing methodologies (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, and Root Cause Analysis)
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analyzing daily production trends
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in an office environment and use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to navigate throughout the production area and facilities as needed, which may require standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely work on and around high-speed automated manufacturing equipment in a dynamic industrial setting.
  • Ability to work comfortably within static-controlled (ESD) environments and cleanrooms, including wearing required cleanroom garments and footwear.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds
