What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN STAFF EDUCATOR / INFECTION CONTROL position at Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing?
The Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work as the Staff Educator for our SNF. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a long-term care setting.
The Staff Educator will oversee infection control and will be responsible for the development of an integrated approach to quality across the organization. Reporting directly to the DNS, the Staff Educator will collaborate with all nursing staff to develop programs in order to improve quality, performance, and overall core measures while being supported by the multi-disciplinary team.
DUTIES:
- Provide orientation to newly-hired staff as well as continuing education to existing staff to maintain regulatory compliance
- Assist the DNS/ADNS with management responsibilities and in maintaining quality of care
- Serve as Infection Control Officer
- Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of staff medical records
- Maintain flexibility with work schedule to address unpredictable needs
REQUIREMENTS
- Current NYS RN license
- Minimum 2 years experience in long-term care setting
- 1-year staff eduction experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Evidence of basic leadership skills and supervision
- Flexible hours
- Infection Control Certificate preferred but not required
- Current CPR Certificate
