Nurse, Psychiatric Care (RN) - Crisis Stabilization Part-Time
Hourly Pay: $37.25/hr with a $2.50/hr shift differential for evenings, overnights, and weekends
Work Schedule: 7:00am to 3:30pm or 11:00pm to 7:30am every other weekend, some week days

about this role
As a part-time Psychiatric Care Registered Nurse (RN) at the H-NNCSB BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders at the Regional Crisis Stabilization Center (RCSC). The residential treatment program is a 16-bed facility serving adults (18 ) experiencing acute mental health or co-occurring substance use crises. It provides short-term stabilization in single-occupancy rooms. In this impactful position, you will collaborate with a staff psychiatrist to assist in the prescription, administration, and monitoring of client medications while performing thorough client assessments. Your responsibilities will include delivering crisis and supportive counseling, analyzing data to determine appropriate medical and nursing care, and planning tailored treatment strategies to meet each client's distinct needs.
With a comprehensive understanding of professional nursing principles and psychotropic medication management, you will also coordinate medical services, provide oversight for medication management, and consult with treatment staff on holistic care planning. This role allows you to utilize your expertise while making a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.
What you need to be successful
To thrive as a part-time Psychiatric Care Registered Nurse (RN) at the H-NNCSB BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing is required
- One (1) year of behavioral health experience as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates will register to practice as a QMHP trainee within the first 30 days of employment
- Possess a valid Virginia Driver's License
